Showing gratitude to frontline heroes all over the world, Avril Lavigne has unveiled the video for her empowering new single ‘We Are Warriors’. The lyrics and visuals form a beautiful tribute!
As we previously reported, Avril recently re-recorded her song ‘Warrior’ to reflect the current coronavirus pandemic. Changing singular pronouns to collective ones, she re-titled the track ‘We Are Warriors’ to highlight that we’re all united in this fight together.
All net proceeds from sales and streams of ‘We Are Warriors’ will be donated to Project HOPE‘s ongoing COVID-19 relief efforts. As well as encouraging people to find their inner strength, Avril’s latest release is raising money for a truly great cause.
Speaking about the inspiration for her new charity single, Avril Lavigne said: “Ever since our world was turned upside down a few weeks ago, I’ve seen everyday people put on their armor and go into battle. Simple tasks like delivering mail has become a heroic effort. Overnight everyone was asked to battle. Overnight everyone became warriors.“
“I wanted to get involved and contribute so I got to work in the studio. I re-recorded ‘Warrior’ to reflect our current world and all the amazing heroic things you’re all doing. To all the hospital workers, postal service people, grocery store workers, police and firemen, every single one of you who has had their world shaken. This is for you.”

Over the years, Avril has consistently used her platform to help others. The Canadian superstar launched The Avril Lavigne Foundation in 2010 and she has also raised huge amounts of money to support individuals who’ve been affected by Lyme Disease. She is a true talent with a big heart!
